This was an interesting period for both my girlfriend and I for a few reasons: we were pretty much broke, we had no idea what we wanted to do with our lives besides be with each other, and we were still very immature for our age.
Since we didn't have much money, we couldn't afford to pay rent. So we were able to live with my father and step mother for a few months.
It was fully understandable that parents would prefer their own space. So,
It wasn't long before my girlfriend and I had to find another place to live.

So after a phone call to my mother and a few conversations with my Aunt, we found a new place to live for a couple more months rent free.
My aunt and her husband had a very hard work ethic. She would work long rigorous hours at an assembly factory from the early morning (usually around 5AM) to early evening (5PM), while her husband worked the late night shift at a Chinese restaurant.
Amazingly, she still managed to cook for her two children and us.
Since I wasn't making any money from trading and my girlfriend making very little money, we decided to move to Toronto.
***
Making full use of the family branch, we stayed with my grandparents who had a condo in the big city.
We were just as lost and broke as we were in Ottawa so we spent our first week roaming the streets looking for a job.
My girlfriend and I both ended up working for Timothy's coffee at different locations.
We would both come home smelling like fresh roasts, quizzing each other on different coffee blends and drinks. I personally hated the job. But she actually enjoyed working in the atmosphere.
***
Because we were still lost in Toronto. I was almost ready to break off the relationship because clearly we had no clue what we wanted in life.
None of it felt right, so on a whim, I decided to get out of Canada again. This time it was going to be Korea.
When I told my girlfriend and family, they all thought I was crazy probably wondering what the hell was wrong with me.
I figured that if I worked full time teaching English, I could actually come back with some money and be able to travel again which was what I really wanted.
