I just got back from a breath taking performance by the Cirque Du Soleil. The Immortal Tour pays homage to the legacy of Michael Jackson.
The choreography, audio/visual effects, and performers were exceptional which I rate 5 stars. There was a good balance of acrobatics, dancing, and live music that beautifully portray the passion and identity of Michael. Songs were mixed and mastered with additional riffs and melodies in order to mould each act in a very creative way. Also, the lighting and video footage was well managed.
The media tries to shed negative light on Michael Jackson, most likely due to his optimismistic and loving character. Songs like "Heal The World" and "Black or White" project ideals of unity and equality - things that don't generally fall in line with elitist views. Perhaps Michael's tone in "They Don't Care About Us" comes off as being somewhat threatening to the establishment and potentially teaches listeners that there is truth in his words. You will never hear these types of themes in modern day Millenium garbage pop music. Rather, you'll be forced to listen to the next Barbie doll who's role is to distract you from all that's true and real in life.
The reality is that there will never be a comparable Pop Icon to Michael Jackson and that every aspiring Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber could only wish they had his super hero capabilities. MJ has made it to the reigns of immortality and these kind of stars only come once in a blue moon.
Let's face it. Michael Jackson is as real as it gets in pop music. And I hope that one day the future generations will be able to appreciate his music just like I did as a young child and even now as a middle aged man.
Thank you Cirque Du Soleil for creating such a wonderful performance.
Michael Jackson's legacy will live on forever.
