Reflections: Post Holiday Doldrums?

Back in Ottawa again.

It seems every time I come back to my "home" base, the less and less I feel like being here.  The city of lazy government workers and expired tech geeks.

What happened to the exotic destinations, delicious foods, warm smiles,  and adventurous experiences?

That all ended after a 20+ hour flight on what I call my return leg back to reality.

It was so much fun just spending money and doing whatever I wanted to do.  Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia all in two memorable months.

Why couldn't I just continue my trek around the world, free to do as I will, free to eat what and when I want, free to just be free!

Perhaps the old cliche holds true that nothing comes free in this world.  Well that's understandable considering I just spent $10,000 on buying that feeling of freedom, which in the end was well worth it.

I'm not going to lie.  It's quite difficult coming back to this sleepy town expecting any spark of inspiration to post on my blog.  But like breaking up with your first girlfriend, time always serves as the best healer.

The good news is that there are bigger and brighter things to look forward to.  I am packing my bags and moving to Toronto next week.

Bye bye Mr. Harper. Bye bye Rideau Canal.  Bye Bye Clean Air.
