As we were brought into the world as young children, our paths were for the most part already set. From the first day of school to the point of graduation, we were expected to go through the required steps of development through a program that was for the most part pre-scripted.
The times that we kept close to our hearts were those times when we weren't under pressure to perform, conform, and do as others expected of us.
Those were the times when we were free spirited, unaffected by much in the world.
For many it came to an abrupt stop as we approached our young adulthood and were "entitled" to rights and roles in society.
It was then that we were introduced to the matrix.
Some people jumped into the matrix with open arms and aspirations to become materially successful while others attempted to stay more spiritually in-tuned and less committed to conforming.
In my early twenties, I found myself somewhere in between the spectrum.
It felt like I was in some sort of Quarter Life Crisis.
So I decided to go with what felt right.
Rather than becoming materially concerned, I felt a stronger inclination to explore.
