Fasting - Just lemon water

It's very easy to get caught up in a very stressful lifestyle when you're doing the 9-5 grind.
It's even easier to give into readily available vices to cope with our daily stresses.

Whether it's alcohol, sugar, caffeine, cigarettes, or junk food,  people tend to look for a "quick fix" to make themselves feel better.

It is sometimes necessary to incorporate an act of good faith into your schedule to give your body some healing time from all the built up physical and mental tension that commonly daunts us all at some point in our lives.

For me, these beneficial activities include exercising, meditating, doing yoga, and fasting.

Today I am fasting before we move into the busy fall season.

According to Wikipedia, "Fasting is primarily the act of willingly abstaining from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time. An absolute fast is normally defined as abstinence from all food and liquid for a defined period, usually a single day (24 hours), or several days."

Since I am doing a short term fast, I am drinking only lemon water.

The lemon water has an alkalizing effect on the body.  Today's diseases and illnesses such as Cancer and Candidiasis cannot thrive in an environment high in alkalinity.  So it is important to ensure that your lifestyle does not promote a highly acidic environment.

In addition, lemon water helps break down mucuous and aids in the digestive process.

Keep in mind that I highly advocate using organic produce, since the ingestion of chemical pesticides can actually be detrimental to the healing process.

If you're ever feeling down or off balance, try fasting for a day.
