Breaking the fast with an Apple

It's 7AM in the morning and I feel pretty good.
My wife couldn't sleep anymore and got up before me.  Apparently her body was going through  a challenging time lastnight as she was sweating profusely, tossing and turning on the bed.  It was her first fast and she handled it quite well.

My body on the other hand was sending me mixed signals throughout the fast.  I found that I had a lot of congestion in my head and I'm wondering if it has to do with mental stress.

It's been a while since I gave my body some time to get back into rhythm and I'm feeling pretty fresh.
I decided I'd warm up the digestive system with a nice organic apple this morning.  I believe it's very important not to shock your system when breaking a fast especially if you're doing it for more than a couple days.  A general rule of thumb is to stick with foods that contain enzymes in them, such as raw vegetables and fruits.  This will help lessen the impact on a previously dormant digestive system.

"Fasting is important, more important perhaps, than many of us have supposed,... when exercised with a pure heart and a right motive, fasting may provide us with a key to unlock doors where other keys have failed; a window opening up new horizons in the unseen world; a spiritual weapon of God's provision, mighty, to the pulling down of strongholds."
