The good news is, that I got through the 18 holes successfully. It helped alot that we were playing the best of four and that two of the people I was playing with were exceptionally good at golf.
I managed to achieve my goal of hitting a straight liner with my 5 wood (which may not be considered as a driver, but who's judging) on my 15th hole with confidence. It was so dead on, that the head of my driver broke and flew off as well!
I had couple decent putts, but none made it in the hole.
Although I lost more than half a dozen balls in the woods, I feel satisfied with my first experience playing a par 5.

On a less positive note, I think I ate something that contained gluten.
I spent some time frequently vomitting into a plastic bag on my way home as my intestines began to spasm off and on.
It's amazing how sensitive my body has become since I started eating gluten free. Even a simple salad dressing containing gluten can throw my body off in such a drastic way.
Also my stomach starts to pump up and down as if my heart was positioned under my belly button.
Pretty messed up stuff!
Anyways, I pounded some water with sodium bicarbonate and ate two raw cloves of garlic to raise the pH level in my body. So I'm feeling a bit better now.
